Ingredients: (always look for organic, natural, local and/or wild sourced ingredients)
  • 4 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 4 medium pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil (or butter)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
  • Pinch of salt
Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Fruit: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples and pears. Add the brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg, tossing until the fruit is well coated. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

Make the Topping: In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour, melted coconut oil, chopped nuts, and a pinch of salt. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and crumbly.

Assemble the Crisp: Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.

Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving. This crisp is delicious on its own or served warm with a scoop of vanilla yogurt or ice cream for added creaminess.
