The military holds a special place in my heart. Not just because I was born on a Marine Corp base and the son of a marine, but also because of the great ability for research inside the military. Our soldiers provide great research and control groups for studies like the one I review in this video. They are young and fit, we know what they are doing at all times and what they are eating etc. In this study it is no different. 750 active military members were divided into two groups. All of them presented with acute or chronic low back pain according to their disability surveys. One group received usual medical care, while the other group received usual medical care and chiropractic care. Usual medical care consists of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like Tylenol and maybe some physical therapy. The chiropractic care group received adjustments on top of the Tylenol for 6 weeks. At the end of the 6 weeks the chiropractic group had statistically significant better results. Yet another study where chiropractic care proves to be superior in treating low back pain. This all comes down to motion in the joints. In the video I explain Hilton’s law and how it is key to understand in eliminating joint pain. Without motion in a joint, that joint degenerates, creates adhesions and scar tissue which eventually leads to pain. In order to eliminate the pain, motion has to be restored to the joint.
