Stress affects the body in many ways — from tight muscles to restless sleep. But how we handle stress can make all the difference in our overall well-being. One simple and effective tool is mindfulness meditation.

In a large study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, Goyal and colleagues reviewed 47 randomized trials including more than 3,000 participants. They found that mindfulness meditation programs led to significant reductions in stress, anxiety, depression, and even physical pain compared to people who received no treatment. The participants also reported improvements in overall emotional well-being.

This research reminds us that managing stress doesn’t always require big, complicated solutions. Taking just a few minutes each day to practice being present — whether through guided meditation, focused breathing, or quiet reflection — can make a measurable difference in how our mind and body feel.

At our clinic, we believe in the Think Well principle: when the mind is calm, the body has a better chance to heal. Pairing mindfulness with chiropractic adjustments and movement therapies helps our patients manage stress and feel their best.
