Chiropractors Smoothie to Help Reduce Pain
Video by Dr. Jake Goodman
We love sharing recipes with our East Dallas patients that will not only taste great but help reduce inflammation and keep them healthy. This smoothie blends anti-inflammatory superfoods to support joint recovery, reduce oxidative stress, and promote cellular repair. Turmeric’s active compound, curcumin, has been shown to modulate inflammatory pathways and aid in post-exercise recovery. Mango and pineapple contribute vitamin C and bromelain—nutrients known to reduce muscle soreness and support tissue healing. Greek yogurt adds protein and probiotics, fostering muscle repair and gut balance. A touch of black pepper enhances curcumin absorption, while almond milk keeps the texture smooth and light. This functional smoothie offers a science-backed way to cool inflammation naturally and boost recovery.
Recipe
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
- ½ cup pineapple pieces
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- A pinch of black pepper
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional for taste)
Blend all ingredients until creamy. Serve immediately for maximum nutrient potency.
“Curcumin has potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that contribute to improved recovery after physical exertion.”
“Bromelain from pineapple may reduce exercise-induced muscle damage and inflammation.”
