Decreasing Inflammation and Bloat

You ever feel bloated or just don’t feel like you have enough energy to make it through the day? Well, this recipe is for you and a must have for lunch or even dinner! This recipe is super simple and easy to make and not a lot of things put into it. Enrich in antioxidants which is very essential for decreasing inflammation throughout our bodies. A detox is essential for the body and should be done at least once a week to help flush out all of the bad toxins within our bodies from some of the food we have eaten. In this recipe, watermelon is one of the main ingredients. Watermelon is in fact an anti-inflammatory and has also been shown to help with cardiovascular diseases. Watermelons are also an antioxidant which again gets rid of the toxins within our bodies for the body to be able to health at an optimal level.

“Watermelon contains phytochemicals such as lycopene, vitamin C, β-carotene, and Total polyphenolic content that possess anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antioxidant properties. Dietary intake of these products with antioxidants properties is important in maintaining human health and well-being.”
“These reduces incidence of chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and some coronary heart diseases, through inhibiting formation of free radicals and reactive oxygen species.”

Ingredients
- ½ cup of red-wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of honey
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
- ¼ cup extra-virgin oil
- 5 cups cubed seedless watermelon
- 1 cucumber, chopped
- 6 ounces of feta cheese, cut into ¾ inch cubes
- ½ cup thinly sliced red onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
Directions
- Whisk vinegar, honey, salt and pepper in a small bowl; gradually whisk in oil until completely incorporated.
- Combine watermelon, cucumber, feta and onion in a large bowl. Gently stir in 1/2 cup of the vinaigrette. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes or up to 2 hours.
