Diet For Reducing Inflammation
Video by Dr. Antonio Flaquer
We know that diet is essential for reducing inflammation and in our East Dallas clinic we talk a lot about eating the right things but do we really understand why we’re eating the healthy vegetable or fruit and how it helps reduce inflammation? One of my favorite fruits personally is raspberries so I wanted to share some important factors about them and how they can benefit you and why they’re good for you. The first thing that comes to mind is they are anti inflammatory so they help with lowering inflammation and also reduces the risk if diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. There was something I saw from the research paper that I wanted to share with you all.
“Red raspberries (Rubus idaeus L.) are unique berries with a rich history and nutrient and bioactive composition. They possess several essential micronutrients, dietary fibers, and polyphenolic components, especially ellagitannins and anthocyanins, the latter of which give them their distinctive red coloring. The body of research is growing and supports a potential role for red raspberries in reducing the risk of metabolically based chronic diseases.”
When you think about, it’s self-explanatory to really pay attention to what you’re putting into your body because what you’re putting into your body is what you’re going to get out or it’s what fuels you. A lot of people always look for a quick fix, or something they try and look up online to do overnight. For example, if you are dealing with bloating issues you can’t just take a pill of some sort an expect to be better in the long run. Sure, you may feel better in the moment and maybe even the rest of the day but something caused that flare up or inflammation to take place in your body. So ask yourself this question the next time something like that happens to you. Am I looking for a quick fix, or am I trying to understand the underlying issue of the problem that has risen for me?
