Anti-Inflammatory Green Drink with Turmeric
I see patients everyday dealing with some kind of pain. This could be neck pain, back pain or joint pain. Some may not know that one of the root causes of pain is inflammation. Making a green drink is a quick way to give the body some fuel to help fight this inflammation. It will not fix the underlying problem but it can give some relief. This recipe I am sharing today has a key ingredient which is becoming more popular and that is turmeric. Turmeric not only helps with inflammation but it’s also a key ingredient to liver health. This can be due to a chemical compound found in turmeric called curcumin which has been extensively researched.
“In recent years, the great therapeutic potential against various human diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, arthritis, neurological diseases, and HIV-disease, has been documented. According to the PubMed, over 3000 studies have been carried out with curcumin.”
Keeping the liver clean is important because it filters all of the junk that we consume. Whether it is bad food from going out to eat, drinking alcohol, or even putting products onto our skin because that eventually gets absorbed into the blood and makes its way to the liver. You can think of the liver like an air conditioning vent. We know to change that when it gets a layer of filth over it to keep the unit functioning like it should. Most people don’t change or clean the filter to their body which is the liver. This recipe can help with that. I attached a research article showing some of the many benefits of turmeric.
Doing regular cleansing is important to keep the body functioning properly. Smoothies like this one is a way to continue to eat well. It is vital to manage stress, exercise daily, and receive regular chiropractic adjustments to keep the body in a state of homeostasis.
