Green Smoothie to Improve Brain Function
Video by Dr. Trent Yeomans
One of my favorite ways to start the day is with a green drink that includes peanut butter. This creamy addition not only enhances the flavor but also offers significant health benefits. As a chiropractor in East Dallas, I often see patients dealing with stress and cognitive fatigue, and incorporating peanut butter into your diet can be a simple and effective way to support mental well-being.
Peanut butter is rich in bioactive compounds, including polyphenols like resveratrol, which have been shown to improve cognitive function and reduce stress. A randomized controlled trial published in Clinical Nutrition (2021) found that regular consumption of peanut products, such as peanut butter, led to improved memory and reduced anxiety and depression scores in healthy adults. The study concluded that “regular peanut and peanut butter consumption may enhance memory function and stress response in a healthy young population” .
This is why I add peanut butter to my green drink—it helps support cognitive function and manage stress naturally. Plus, the healthy fats and protein in peanut butter can help keep you feeling full longer, making it easier to maintain a balanced diet throughout the day.
Whether you’re looking to improve your mental clarity or simply want to add a nutritious ingredient to your diet, peanut butter is a delicious and healthful choice.
