Boost Energy and Reduce Pain

Video by Dr. Antonio Flaquer

As a chiropractor, I’m always looking for ways to help my patients feel their best. When a patient comes to me in pain and feeling low energy I ask how are they eating. Are they feeling like they are moving slower after a meal or start feeling like they want to crash? For me, it’s important that I eat a good “energizing” meal to make sure I don’t crash in the afternoon and drag my feet. It’s easy to with all the poor choices of food around us that we have in today’s society, but you can still be cognizant of what you’re eating. For example, a lot of people usually eat some type of carbohydrate meal. The reason why you feel so tired afterwards is because carbohydrates turn into sugar after it is consumed and then you get the sugar crashing feels. People say you need proteins and carbohydrates to help with energy, but in reality, it’s fats. Good fats actually give off more energy than both proteins and carbohydrates combined. Good fat sources are things like almonds, avocados, nuts, and things with good oils. This is why I talk about almonds is a good source of energy to add to your green smoothies to make sure you’re getting a boost in your energy but also a boost in your immune system. You need to make sure you’re always getting the right foods to make sure your energy is up so your body can do what it needs to do in a healthy way. Here is some information about the health benefits of almonds and what they have to offer.

“By virtue of their unique nutrient composition, almonds are likely to benefit other modifiable cardiovascular and diabetes risks, such as body weight, glucose homeostasis, inflammation, and oxidative stress.”
