Start Them Off Right with a Green Drink for Healthy Kids!
The typical Western diet is causing our children to form lifestyle habits at an early age that lead to chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity. This is because we do not have the daily needed number of vegetables and fruits in our daily diet. I phrase it that way because we, as a species, need more vegetables than we need fruits. One of my biggest goals is to help correct this long-lasting health concern. I use green drinks as a way to get my own children servings of vegetables in the morning along with some pieces of fruit to add in natural complex carbohydrates (natural sugars). I have personally found it best to include my girls in the blending process as they become more excited with the drink and thus more inclined to drink it. I have also found this as the best way to add the proper probiotics to their day as they can be put in the blender with the fruits and veggies. They get the sweet treat in the morning that they crave and I get to enjoy the satisfaction of them getting the nutrients they need to go through their day with a healthy start. Along with helping protect them from the chronic diseases I mentioned above, there is growing research on the protective impact that the dietary fiber has against digestive disorders such as Crohn’s disease. For those that don’t know, Crohn’s is a debilitating disease that causes sharp and severe pains in the intestines when trying to digest certain foods. So remember to have a Green Drink for Healthy Kids! Given the choice for my family, I choose for them to live longer, healthier lives with less pain and inflammation. What do you want for yours?
