So, I was trying to figure out fun ways to incorporate the Omega A+D into my daily habits rather than just drinking it straight or taking the capsules. I eat salad regularly and most salad dressings are full of bad oils and high calories. This gave me the bright idea to create a healthy yet tasty salad dressing. After a lot of experimenting, I found that this recipe I am going to share with you today is quite delicious.
As most of us are aware by now the immune system is vital to keeping us healthy. There has been a lot of research about vitamin D, which is actually a prohormone, and its key role in a properly functioning immune system. Every single cell in the human body has a receptor for vitamin D. We have the ability to synthesize it from cholesterol from the sun but certain times of year this is not possible. A lot of research points to the concept that there is no flu season, there is only vitamin D deficiency season. This happens because of sun exposure levels. During parts of the year certain geographic areas do not allow humans to create enough vitamin D naturally from the sun so they are susceptible to having a weakened immune system unless supplementing with vitamin D. Viruses cannot live in sunlight, they get obliterated by the UV light. As sunlight intensity and exposure weakens during parts of the year so does our immune system.
