Lower Inflammation and Avoid Depression

Chiropractic is more than just getting adjusted and doing the physical therapy to maintain your adjustments. In our office we look at the overall lifestyle of our patients because everything you do matters. How we at, how we move, and how we manage our stress to avoid depression. Stress can be a big killer for everybody so its very important that we manage our stress throughout our daily lives which is what we are talking about today. Now, cold showers or baths you see a lot used for athletes to help lower inflammation and improve blood flow to the areas worked. But there have been studies that a cold shower is one of the best ways to help you lower your stress by lowing your blood pressure. One of the chemical reactions we have when we take a cold shower or bath is endorphins are released in our body. When endorphins are released these increases our feel-good hormones which decreases the symptoms of depression and anxiety throughout our body. It’s hard to start taking a cold shower at first, but just like anything else, you start getting used to it and it starts becoming a habit. This is one of the many ways to manage our stress and to help us detox. It is important to make sure that we manage our stress along with eat right and continue to move throughout our day. Stress doesn’t just build up from a bad day at work. It builds up from not eating or moving right as well. So, always make sure you are doing all of the three things in order to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. This is your life and you should be able to live it the way you want to, so don’t let stress or any of those other factors stop you from doing what you love.
