Nutrition to Limit Neck and Back Pain

Video by Dr. Bryan Stephens

As a Chiropractor in East Dallas, my job is to help people move better by helping them with neck and back pain. Nutrition plays a big part, as well, in limiting neck and back pain. I was listening to some podcasts last week on nutrition and ways to help with insulin spikes and while the experts were weighing in differently, there was one thing they both agreed on. By getting vinegar in your diet before eating, it cuts down on the insulin spikes and glucose spikes associated with foods. By lowering the glucose spikes, the insulin released is lowered as well, which helps to avoid developing insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is one of the causes for type 2 diabetes.

“Postprandial hyperglycemia plays a decisive role in the development of chronic metabolic disorders.”

“The pooled analysis of studies revealed a significant mean glucose and insulin area under the curve (AUC) reduction in participants who consumed vinegar compared with the control group”

“The findings suggest that vinegar can be effective in reducing postprandial glucose and insulin levels, indicating it could be considered as an adjunctive tool for improving glycemic control.”

This becomes increasingly important as diabetes is on the rise and it can be prevented by focusing on what we eat, how we move, and managing the stresses in our life.  We don’t have to suffer at the rates we do if we focus on our health.  Small changes such as this can have immense impacts overall.
