Mangos to Reduce Pain & Inflammation

Video by Dr. Trent Yeomans

Mangos are favorite fruit because of its high levels of natural sweetness. Mangos are also great for your health. They are rich in vitamin K and vitamin C which helps with effective blood clotting and forming new blood vessels to help your body heal. Along with the vitamins they are also full of the antioxidant beta-carotene. The antioxidants in mangoes have been shown to fight free radicals, which can cause damage to your cells and potentially lead to cancer. In a study done by Wilkinson et al. they wanted to see the effect of oral vitamin C tablets on arterial stiffness in the body. They found that by ingesting vitamin C to the levels above deficiency arterial stiffness decreased. Eating a well-balanced diet with proper nutritional levels has a major impact on overall health and reducing pain and inflammation. Every doctor at Texas Chiro Health knows how important this is so if we can do a simple green drink daily then we can get the extra nutrients our body may be missing to help fight off inflammation and pain.

“The vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in mangoes can provide important health benefits. For example, vitamin K helps your blood clot effectively and helps prevent anemia. It also plays an important role in strengthening your bones. Mangoes are also rich in vitamin C, which is important for forming blood vessels and healthy collagen, as well as helping you heal.”

“Oral vitamin C reduces arterial stiffness and platelet aggregation in healthy subjects.”
