Reducing Chronic Inflammation

Video by Dr. Tanner Tunskey

Inflammation, especially chronic inflammation, is extremely common here in our East Dallas clinics and  has been tied to a whole host of negative health detriments like chronic pain, cardiovascular disease, and even cancer. While there are many ways to reduce systemic inflammation in our bodies, a quick and simple way to do so consistently is through nutrition.

Avocados are the key ingredient in today’s healthy green drink, and has been linked in multiple studies to be anti-inflammatory as well as cardioprotective. This specific study showed that avocado consumption leads to improved fatty acid profile when looking at blood markers in the body. “Reductions in total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-c), triglycerides (TG), apolipoproteins A and B, and platelet aggregation were observed. There was an increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL-c), and serum lipid peroxidation. Preservation of Ikappa-B protein (IkB) and inactivation of NF-kappa B (NFkB) were observed.”

This recipe can be an easy way to get all of the health benefits of avocados in one drink! Give it a try to help reduce inflammation, reduce pain, and live a healthier life!
