Reducing Inflammation and Stress
Video by Dr. Erik Waldeland
When it comes to how we approach pain, one of the things our doctors in East Dallas always address are the foods and nutrients that our patients consume. We need to ensure the body has the ability to heal from the inside out, because this is important for not only getting out of pain but staying out of pain. Antioxidants play a crucial role in reducing inflammation and stress in the body, ultimately leading to improved overall health and well-being. Blueberries are known for their high antioxidant content, making them a powerful ally in fighting off inflammation. In the attached recipe below, the inclusion of blueberries provides a delicious and efficient way to incorporate antioxidants into one’s diet. According to the research article attached at the bottom of the article, antioxidants “reduce the risk of chronic diseases by combating free radicals and oxidative stress” and “contribute to the management of oxidative stress-related diseases.” Through the consumption of antioxidant-rich blueberries, individuals can help combat inflammation and stress in their bodies, ultimately enhancing their overall health.
Incorporating antioxidants into one’s diet not only reduces inflammation and stress in the body, but it can also lead to a decrease in pain levels. The research article mentioned earlier states that antioxidants have the ability to “modulate signaling pathways and gene expression that are involved in the inflammatory response.” By targeting these pathways and reducing inflammation, antioxidants can help alleviate pain caused by chronic inflammation. Overall, incorporating antioxidant-rich foods, such as blueberries, into one’s diet can have a profound impact on reducing inflammation, stress, and ultimately pain levels in the body.
