Stay Healthy with Chiropractic

and Green Smoothies

Video by Dr. Erik Waldeland

You know you can stay healthy with Chiropractic. But did you know the green smoothie recipes that we share on a regular basis are not only a great short cut in order for you to make sure you’re getting in your fruits and veggies. Our Chiropractors share these recipes to help you stay healthy and lower inflammation, and they taste awesome too.  Whenever I am craving something sweet, I will now throw together a smoothie such as the recipe below in order to fill that desire for something sweet.  This helps me avoid things like candy or ice cream which tend to be way too high in sugar and have an extremely negative impact on how much body is functioning and healing.  High sugar foods promote inflammation in the body, and when consumed regularly for long periods, contribute to the many metabolic diseases our culture struggles with.  The mango in this recipe provides many vitamins and minerals, Vitamin A being the one I want to highlight today. Along with with Chiropractic adjustments and managing stress, eating well by adding a daily smoothie to your routine can help you stay healthy!

Vitamin A is crucial for maintaining vision, promoting growth and development, and protecting epithelium and mucus cells in the body. Vitamin A is known as an anti-inflammation vitamin because of its role in enhancing immune function.  As we get towards the winter months in Minnesota, it is important that we boost our immune systems as much as possible, so Vitamin A as well as Vitamin D will be an important addition to our diets in the coming months.

“Vitamin A is involved in the development of the immune system and plays regulatory roles in cellular immune responses and humoral immune processes. Vitamin A has demonstrated a therapeutic effect in the treatment of various infectious diseases.”

“As a promotor for morphology and a cell differentiation enhancer, VitA is an integral part of the mucus layer of both the respiratory tract and the intestine.”
