Turmeric for Reducing Neck and Back Pain
Shared by Dr. Byron Morgan

This recipe for roasted turmeric cauliflower has become one of my go-to sides—it’s easy, flavorful, and loaded with anti-inflammatory benefits. I was drawn to turmeric not only for its vibrant color but for its well-documented effects on reducing pain and inflammation—something that ties directly into the work we do every day in our clinic in East Dallas. I picked this recipe because it’s both nourishing and simple enough for busy weeknights, and it helps support patients experiencing chronic pain.
Quotes
“Curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, has shown anti-inflammatory properties by downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines.”
— Hewlings & Kalman, 2017, Foods
“Evidence suggests that curcumin can significantly reduce symptoms in patients with arthritis, including pain and stiffness.”
— Daily et al., 2016, Journal of Medicinal Food

Turmeric is more than a spice—it’s a powerful nutritional tool that can help combat inflammation, which often underlies conditions like back pain, joint stiffness, and headaches. At our clinics, we always look for simple, effective ways to help our patients feel better, and nutrition plays a key role in that mission. Eat well, live well—and if you’re dealing with pain, we’re here to help.
